I bring this up because I and all of the other residents have been ordered NOT to use any portable washing machines we might have, inside our apartments, because, allegedly, their use will cause the walls to sprout mold. I bring this up because we are still dealing with a bedbug infestation - and without a washing machine that delivers straight hot water, undiluted by cold water ... there is no way to reliably kill bedbug eggs. Also, on-site laundry is one of the things that is advertised as an advantage to living at 137 12th Street. To the degree that people without cars have relied upon this implied promise, they are now without any way to do their laundry - and, it could be argued, some sort of reduction in rent is called for.
