I decided to move closer, to see better - but I absent-mindedly turned my own running and headlights on, and when I did so, the other car turned on its headlights, and left, turning towards the freeway. When it passed in front of my headlights (from my position, half-way back in the parking lot) I got a glimpse of the vehicle, and it looked like a two-door silver car, with vaguely sporty lines, IE, elongated hood and deprecated trunk. I don't think it was CA 6WIG015 - I think that is a four-door sedan - but I could be wrong. I don't know for sure that there was any connection between my starting my motor, turning on my lights, and moving forward, and their abruptly departing the scene, obviously. (I'll walk over there this evening and see if I see the same car parked there, after work hours. If so, it would be safe to assume that it is asociated with someone who lives on Loni Drive.) But - regardless - the end of Loni Drive is an excellent place to park and watch the north side of 137 12th Street. From what is now several months of night-time surveillance of my own apartment parking lot and the vicinity, I can tell you that there is normally no traffic on Loni Drive before 0400. And these individuals whom have been visiting 137 12th Street's parking lot have shown a strong preference for working between 0330 and 0400 - with the sole exception of the hit-and-run two weeks ago, which happened at 0220. These individuals also show a strong preference for Monday mornings and the very ends of three-day weekends and holiday periods. I surmise that they think this is the time their victims are least alert. Me, I'm looking for the brightest spotlight I can find.
