For instance, when I moved in, there was a half-inch wide gap, between the frame and the fixed half of the sliding door, by the kitchen, which provides a second exit. When you assumed responsibility for the management of the premises and toured the complex in the company of Jessica, I explicitly pointed this gap out to you, and Jessica photographed it. But no repair ticket was issued by you, and no efforts were made, after the tour, to address this problem. It turned out that the reason the window frame had a gap was because it was not even fastened in place. The window slid in the frame, and created a THIRD, UN-SECURED, UN-DOCUMENTED back door. There is no way that such a thing could have happened by accident. In fact, the whole sliding door/window frame is installed backwards. The sliding portion is on the OUTSIDE, where it is LESS secure, so that one cannot even do the old "drop-a-stick-into-the-frame" trick, to hold the door closed. (Paul told me there are several others installed the same way.) And so, lacking evidence to the contrary, it would seem that someone in a position of responsibility, mis-installed the door, so that it did not SECURE the premises, so much as it offered an ALTERNATIVE, UN-SECURED entrance - presumably, to facilitate burglary ... or, perhaps, rape. This state of affairs persisted until, if I recall correctly, early November 2014 - when Paul finally came to seal the gap with some insulation ... discovered that the window actually slid, freely, in its frame ... and secured it, with a few sheet metal screws. And so for most of 2014, PPM, and the owners of this property, were NOT providing my family with what they CLAIMED they were providing my family with. My wife and four daughters were exposed to the threat of being raped, in their beds, while sleeping, for the better part of a year ... while paying $985 a month for the privilege. And your lack of diligence - may I say - contributed SUBSTANTIALLY to this state of affairs. In my opinion, you, Sheila Bearden, are not competent to manage an apartment complex. So, go read up on torts, and binding arbitration. Regards, ~richard Richard Childers 707-725-7995
