Kitchen sink drains into same pipe that tub drains into. Drain is now plugged somewhere south of the tub. Result is that water from kitchen sink now accumulates in tub. Impossible to bathe or shower. Culprit: probably potato peels, dutifully fed through garbage disposal with running water - but churning the drain with a plumber's helper has flushed out other things stuffed down the sink, that predate our occupancy.
