Mr. Childers,

Your case was sent up to the District Attorney's Office a few days after th=
e incident took place.  At this time by law I can't arrest the suspect for =
stale misdemeanors.  The case is getting presented to a judge with a reques=
t for a warrant.  When/if the warrant comes then I will be able to arrest t=
he suspect.  If you see him committing any crimes give us a call, but we ca=
n't arrest him yet for assaulting you.  We have the address in Rio Dell for=
 him as well we are just waiting for the warrant to go through=20

Officer Erler,

Returning to 137 12th Street with a child in the car from a Halloween party=
 she'd been attending, as I was parking in front of Building 4, a car start=
ed its engine and left from its position in front of Building 5. It was a d=
ark grey Mustang, with electric blue headlights, with the license plate 6AP=
V961.

(This would be the vehicle previously mentioned in the original assault cas=
e against me, in late September.)

As I dialled 911, I followed the vehicle as it turned left and accelerated =
down 12th Street, over the freeway, and onto Highway 101, southbound - so t=
hat I could report, with confidence, on its direction of travel.

The vehicle accelerated out of my sight - I lost sight of the tail lights s=
outh of the Kenmar offramp - and so I will estimate that it was traveling i=
n excess of 80, maybe 90 miles per hour.

I had a child with me and so I turned around at Highway 36.

It seemed likely to me that the driver was headed for Rio Dell.

The driver acted as if they recognized me. They certainly seemed to be runn=
ing from something.

Did I mention the after-market electric arc-blue headlights? They make the =
vehicle stand out from the crowd, at night.

My daughter thought the driver couldn't be more than 15 or 16 years old.=20
I agree - in my headlights, as the vehicle passed in front of us, the drive=
r seemed remarkably smooth-faced - as if they had just shaved.
