I don't know the exact date this act of spontaneous charity happened - maybe nine to twelve months ago? - and I don't know the exact number of mattresses donated, or their disposition - although it seems like at least a few of them ended up in 1D. I'd send this to Gary but I don't know his email address yet. If you wish, you can forward this to him. I thought Gary was going to drop by yesterday afternoon, but nobody saw him. It's possible I misunderstood him ... or, perhaps word got out, and there were enough calls from other apartment dwellers to require a separate day. I don't have an answering machine on my phone, so if he called to advise me of this, I wouldn't know. I'm OK with not knowing - I can wait, perhaps the situation is evolving. For instance ... the apartment across from me, and upstairs - 4D, I think - has been having mysterious double-sized water bills and they were really upset about it. As a result of my own direct experience, I knew that the interconnection between the upstairs and downstairs was easily manipulated, from the downstairs unit, and so I suggested they discuss this with someone more knowledgeable. They went to the Fortuna city water department (in City Hall), and the property management company, too. And so it's possible that the scope of Gary's inspection may widen.
