(-: Thank you for everything. And, let's stay in touch. I'll continue to keep you up to date on the bedbug situation. Hey, I had an idea about how your department could do some outreach and let people see what you do to make Humboldt County a better place - while actually making Humboldt County a better place, too. I think there are a lot of school administrators whom are in a position to see - and, with a little training, recognize - bedbug bites - right there, in the elementary and middle and maybe the high schools, too, five days a week. (I spoke to one such individual, at a local elementary school - a local who already knew what bedbug bites looked like, and had seen the bites on a juvenile resident of 137 12th Street, last year. I credit her for the inspiration. This person had the information - but they didn't know what to do with it or if it was even legal to share it.) In the wrong hands, that information could be used to remove children from their families. But that's not where I'm going. In the right hands, that information could be used to identify vectors of infection - so that the children can be used to identify the problematic dwellings, and the owners of the dwellings, contacted, directly. I think Humboldt County could achieve this with as little as two presentations to every school district in the county - one educational, and one followup training to see how things are going - and maybe a reward system for the people who actually listen and participate, too. And so, instead of just complaining, I want to suggest a tangible and cost-effective solution, as well. Bedbugs are a hot topic. Thoughtfully, ~richard 707-725-7995
