We were here - but the exterminator was a no-show. Which is odd, because I saw the same exterminator drive through the complex, a few days earlier - we have a working acquaintance because he is local to Fortuna and was the first person to confirm the bedbug infestation. He didn't seem like an unreliable sort of person. And so I am inclined to wonder if there was some sort of last-minute change of heart on the part of the owner, regarding the preferred vendor? Because the owner strikes me as a sort of unreliable person. Penny-wise, maybe, but pound-foolish. Speaking as the person occupying the apartment directly beneath Alan Attar's bug-infested apartment, I need to report that over the past few days I have seen a surge of cockroaches, large and small - late at night, around 3 AM, when I go into the bathroom, and turn on the light, three times in the past three nights I have surprised a cockroach. The first two got away but the third one wasn't so lucky. #1 was a baby. #2 was pretty big. #3 was a teenager. Food for thought. I also found trails of slug slime all over my kitchen hand towels two mornings ago. I set the towels aside to show them to the exterminator and ask if he had anything for slugs. I still have the towels. I don't want to distribute slug bait inside my kitchen. That's for outdoor use - not indoor use - and it's not safe for use around children, either. I'd direct this to Dan Janney but his email was not included on the memo - and I prefer to communicate in writing. Jessica,

We received a memo on our door the evening of 19 August announcing that
a cockroach exterminator would be onsite the 21st between 10 Am and 12
PM and that we would need to be present.

We were here - but the exterminator was a no-show.

Which is odd, because I saw the same exterminator drive through the
complex, a few days earlier - we have a working acquaintance because he
is local to Fortuna and was the first person to confirm the bedbug
infestation.

He didn't seem like an unreliable sort of person.

And so I am inclined to wonder if there was some sort of last-minute
change of heart on the part of the owner, regarding the preferred vendor?

Because the owner strikes me as a sort of unreliable person. Penny-wise,
maybe, but pound-foolish.

Speaking as the person occupying the apartment directly beneath Alan
Attar's bug-infested apartment, I need to report that over the past few
days I have seen a surge of cockroaches, large and small - late at
night, around 3 AM, when I go into the bathroom, and turn on the light,
three times in the past three nights I have surprised a cockroach.

The first two got away but the third one wasn't so lucky. #1 was a baby.
#2 was pretty big. #3 was a teenager.

Food for thought.

I also found trails of slug slime all over my kitchen hand towels two
mornings ago. I set the towels aside to show them to the exterminator
and ask if he had anything for slugs. I still have the towels.

I don't want to distribute slug bait inside my kitchen. That's for
outdoor use - not indoor use - and it's not safe for use around
children, either.

I'd direct this to Dan Janney but his email was not included on the memo
- and I prefer to communicate in writing.

Regards,

~richard
