Dear Lt Eberhardt,

When I last wrote, I predicted that Alan Attar had a .44 magnum.

Did he? I didn't see it - or I would have told you more. Revolver or
automatic? Inquiring minds 'n' all.

I guess I should be glad he didn't start shooting through the floor of
his apartment. He sent me some pretty crazy texts.

So, the reason I'm writing, is because I heard the maintenance guy,
Paulie, say that he saw hypodermic needles and (presumably vials of
injectable) testosterone in Alan Attar's apartment, when he was
rearranging things, for the exterminators, a few days ago.

Which would explain the extreme rage and smashing of windows and
brandishing of firearms on the part of an otherwise pretty nebbish-y guy
from The Bronx.

Alan's the guy who provoked the 9-unit, 2-branch, 2-command response at
137 12th Street, last month, when the carnival was here. He's serving a
30-day sentence for violating the peace, I think. You'd know more about
when he's likely to get out, than I would.

However, rumor is that a family member may show up soon, to clean out
his apartment. This becomes germane if one is concerned about the loss
or desctruction of otherwise useful evidence; as follows.

My questions are several.

1) Where did Alan get the hypodermics from? He's not diabetic, as far as
I know.
2) Where did Alan get the testosterone from? That sounds like some
serious white collar drug abuse.
3) Are there any steroids involved in this case? Because Alan's
behavior, plus the hypos, raises this question.
4) Where did Alan get the firearm from? Word is that he had just been
served with a restraining order.
5) Would Alan turn state's witness against the providers of these things
in order to lessen his sentence?

(You'd know more about the status of such an alleged TRO than I would;
but I thought it should be mentioned.)

It seems to me that a little investigation might turn up some other
bedbugs in the woodwork.

Alan seems to have fairly direct connections to criminal elements in the
local community - resources where one can acquire injectable drugs and,
perhaps, firearms, too, I surmise.

This concerns me.
